COMMON QUESTIONS:

How do I become a local fishing guide?

There are no formal qualifications required to work as a fishing guide. You must, however, have extensive experience fishing in the waters where you operate. Knowledge of local fish populations and the best methods for catching them is essential. Basic boat maintenance abilities are also required.

How much do you tip a fishing guide in Florida?

10-20%

Tipping for a fishing trip follows the same general rule as tipping a waiter, with 10-20% being typical. It's a good idea to start at 15% and work your way up or down depending on how happy you were with your trip.

What is guided fishing?

Simply put, it's a service provided by boat owners and professional fishers that takes guests out onto a body of water for a set period of time in the hopes of catching fish. These charters are frequently rented at set rates per time limit or can be customized to meet the group's needs.
